The course
is a relatively flat parkland and despite there being
no blind holes it is well protected by 68 bunkers and
both professionals and top-class amateurs find it a
fair test of their ability. Most holes are tree lined
with oak, birch and pine. The Garnkirk Burn also winds
its way through the middle part of the course, making
the 6th and 7th holes testing, depending on which way
the wind is blowing.

On a sunny
day there are magnificent views of the Campsie Hills,
with Ben Lomond in the background.
The current course record of 62 was achieved by Dean
Robertson while still an amateurs and now a successful
touring professional, a copy of his scorecard is on
display in the trophy cabinet.
